MARS V - Mentorship for Alignment Researchers 2026
MARS V programme at Cambridge AI Safety Hub matching exceptional students and early-career researchers with experienced researchers from AI labs, think tanks, and academia. Structure: 2-4 weeks of pre-work, 1-week in-person kick-off (Jul 13-19 or Jul 20-26), followed by 8-10 weeks of remote part-time research through October. Participants should expect 8–15+ hours/week on their project. Free programme with CAISH providing travel funding, accommodation, office space, meals during sprint week. Teams receive $2k+ compute budget, Claude Max (5x) for technical streams, dedicated research manager. Application deadline May 3, 2026. MARS VI will run in December 2026.
